Aim
This course is for those new to teaching phonics to enhance phonics provision in their setting without relying on a scheme of work. The information shared will focus on how to sustain high standards to also impact on reading and writing.
Why is this course for you?
This session explores key elements to the teaching of phonics to provide opportunities for all children to make excellent progress. If you are new to teaching or new to Year 1, this session is for you.
Content
Delegates will learn about best practice in phonics and gain new ideas to use within the classroom.
The following will also be explored during the session:
- Practical approaches to enable all children to make progress
- Phonic screening
- Making links between phonics and reading and writing
Who are the Trainers?
Members of the Senior Leadership team at St Peter’s Catholic Primary School, Billericay will deliver the session. They have a wealth of experience in the delivery of phonics and achieving excellent results.
