Aim
This programme is for primary and secondary school teachers to gain a deeper understanding of the qualities of Outstanding teaching and be able to consistently teach Outstanding lessons and use coaching as a mechanism for pupil learning and developing colleagues.

About the Programme
Through hands on activity based sessions, colleague development is significant both individually and across the group as practice is shared, explored and developed. Teachers develop knowledge, skills and pedagogical understanding as well as a wide range of strategies and techniques which impact directly on maximising pupil learning and progress. The programme is over nine weeks which includes two sessions on Coaching. Delegates observe lessons and engage in ward rounds.

• Questioning
• Differentiation
• Coaching

Schools will choose a coach for each of their delegates who will help to guide them through the post-sessional challenges. The coach will assist the delegate with organisational and practical elements of the programme and support the development of a medium term Action Plan.

Delegates will develop as leaders of cutting edge teaching and learning practice in their school. They will bring back skills of coaching which can be used to inspire and further develop fellow colleagues’ practice.

The implementation of the techniques delivered on the course will impact directly on the challenge and engagement offered to students and subsequent progress and attainment that the students achieve.
