Aim
This programme is for primary school teachers with the desire to develop the quality of their teaching to ensure that challenge and engagement are at the heart of classroom practice.

About the Programme
Through hands on activity based sessions, colleague development is significant both individually and across the group as practice is shared, explored and developed. Teachers develop knowledge, skills and pedagogical understanding as well as a wide range of strategies and techniques which impact directly on maximising pupil learning and progress. The programme is over six weeks with post-sessional challenges woven in between each session. Delegates observe a number of lessons and engage in ward rounds. The following areas are explored:

• Challenge and Engagement
• Starters and Plenaries
• Assessment
• Questioning
• Differentiation

Schools will select a mentor for each of their delegates who will help to guide them through the post-sessional challenges. The mentor will assist the delegate with organisational and practical elements of the programme including in-school lesson observations. Mentors are required to attend a Twilight Mentor briefing session and celebrate the successes of the programme during the final session.
